NCDHD is looking for a motivated individual interested in contracting with North Central District Health Department to assist in mosquito trapping in Valentine, NE. The contracted trapper is needed biweekly through October 7th with future opportunities potentially existing in the spring of 2021. Mosquitoes are trapped using a basic trapping apparatus that is battery-powered. All equipment, supplies, and training will be provided. The successful candidate can anticipate a time commitment of 30 mins to set two traps located about .5 miles apart, and an additional 30 mins to one hour to collect traps and package mosquitoes. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, with frequent bending and twisting. Working conditions will be primarily outdoors with local travel required. Personal and reliable transportation is a must. Must be able to properly handle dry ice. Compensation is $66 biweekly.
