West Holt Medical Services is seeking applicants to join our Health Information Management team in a full-time role. This position will send patient information from most patient encounters to the appropriate clinics and nursing homes, complete information for insurance companies’ records, review completed medical records for any missing information, and code using CPT/ICD-10-CM with encoder. The ideal candidate will have an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Management Services, coding certificate, or commensurate working time in a related field.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology.
Training and familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT, ICD-10-PSC codes on claims.
Ability to master clerical skills, including answering phones, typing.
Computer experience in data entry is necessary to assist with patient record maintenance, coding, and release of information.
Customer Service skills are essential such as projecting a positive image, working cooperatively, showing empathy, being courteous, and providing for effective communication.
Flexibility and a willingness to implement changes and integrate automation into daily work processes.
Performs a variety of secretarial duties such as filing, typing, receptionist responsibilities, maintaining adequate systems for locating, filing and retrieving medical records, responding to requests for medical information, utilizing office equipment such as photocopy machine, facsimile machine, personal computer, computer printer, encoder.
Maintains the confidentiality, security and integrity of information
Required: High School Graduate with medical terminology and keyboarding skills.
Preferred: Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Management Services, coding certificate, or commensurate working time in a related field.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
