Certified Pharmacy Tech Job Duties: Assist pharmacists in serving patients by preparing medications; reviewing, interpreting, and entering physician orders; helps maintain pharmacy department and records; dispenses medications for the pharmacist final verification by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals. Certification can be obtained after hiring!

Education and Experience Requirements

Must demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the industry.
Have the ability to demonstrate effective time management skills while working as a pharmacy team
Availability to work between the hours of Monday-Friday 9am-6pm.
High school diploma or GED
18 years old as required by state law
Ability to pass drug test.
Never been convicted of drug related misdemeanor or felony as required by state law
Committed to providing customer that makes patients feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.
Familiarity with pharmacy law and industry terms and processes
Ability to work within strict time frames and deadlines

Ability to resolve conflicts and problems as they arise.
Knowledge of brand and generic drugs by name (or ability and desire to learn)
Registered with the State of Nebraska as a pharmacy technician
Certification and continuing education as required by State law.
Essential Position Responsibilities:

1. Must demonstrate proficiency and productivity in a fast paced environment with unscheduled interruptions. Applicant must demonstrate good organization, time management, and communication skills.
2. Perform computer entry of prescription information including but not limited to: patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation & entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
3. Accept patient and prescription information required to process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorizations from doctor offices where permitted by state law.
4. Retrieve appropriate medication from inventory where permitted by state law.
5. Create prescription labels and affix them to prescription containers where permitted by state law.
6. Place medication into prescription containers where permitted by state law.
7. Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input patient and prescription data into computer system.
8. Assist with maintaining the pharmacy department by keeping it clean in in order.
9. Assist in inventory management processes including: order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory preparation.
10. Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
11. Other duties as assigned.
