Job Summary

  • The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for the assessment, treatment, and management, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions affecting the cardiopulmonary system for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, and adults.
  • The individual must demonstrate proficiency in all modalities of respiratory care, which may include, but not limited to oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, airway clearance, blood gases, airway management, non-invasive and invasive ventilator setup and monitoring.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a certificate in Respiratory Care required.
  • 1-2 years relevant experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care required.
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of Nebraska required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with the National Board of Respiratory Care preferred.

Work Schedule

  • variable, department is staffed from 6:00am-6:30pm; 72 hours every 2 weeks
  • Day Shift; 9 or 12 hour shifts
  • Weekend rotation: every fourth (one year advance notice)
  • Holiday rotation: one to three holidays per year;  (five year advance notice)
  • Call time:  Begins at 6:30 pm- 1 to 2 days/week with an additional day occasionally; housing available across the street tom the hospital

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $25.00 – $37.75 per hour
