St. Mary’s Elementary School is accepting applications for a paraprofessional for the 2024-2025 school year.
Summary
Assists teacher with carrying out curriculum planning, supervision, and assisting children in a classroom setting; assists in reinforcing learning concepts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to the teacher to ensure a safe and stimulating educational environment.
- Assist the teacher in carrying out daily activities in the classroom; aids instructional efforts of the teacher.
- Assist children, individually or in groups, with educational activities, as well as those who need additional support learning a specific concept.
- Supervise children during lunch and recess.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
- Ability to carry-out activities for children that encourage healthy growth, including activities using classroom technology.
- Child supervision skills.
- Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
