The City of O’Neill, an EOE, is taking applications for the position of Water/Wastewater Supervisor. Qualifications include: high school diploma or equivalent; possession of or ability to obtain a CDL with proper endorsements within sixty (60) days from date of hire; possession of or ability to obtain a Nebraska Class III Wastewater Certificate, Grade III Water Operator’s Certificate and a Grade VI Backflow Certificate within six (6) months from date of hire and with 3 years experience preferred; thorough knowledge of math and chemistry; basic mechanical skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SCADA based control systems; excellent communication and organizational skills.
Starting salary will be based on qualifications and experience, plus benefits. The position of Water/Wastewater Supervisor is involved with the construction and maintenance of the City’s water distribution and sewage collection and treatment systems. The Water/Wastewater Supervisor works under the administrative direction of the Mayor and City Council, but independently applies policies and procedures. The position involves a 40 hour work week and rotational on call evening and weekend duty. Exercises supervision over all Water/Sewer Department employees, directing the technical and operational functions of the department.
