General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Seed Operations Specialist will be responsible for supporting the area seed objectives. This will involve facilitating the sales of proprietary seed products and preferred supplier brands of corn, soybeans, cotton, and sorghum. The Seed Operations Specialist will support the Regional Seed Manager in executing the seed strategy for the area seed sales teams.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business or related fields preferred. Will consider other degrees with related operations experience.
Knowledge of corn, soybean, sorghum, and alfalfa production is desired.
Know environmental, regulatory, and stewardship requirements for the various technology products.
Strong operational background with good working knowledge of systems and standard industry practices.
Solid communication skills and people management.
Demonstrated skill in coordinating field input into the business planning and execution process.
Knowledge of computer software and the internet to generate reports and inventory data.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Provide support and focus to the overall seed and seed treatment business across the defined area.
Support the sales team with logistics and inventory management for the area in season.
Manage replant and return programs.
Develop market opportunities by working with the sales team and regional sales manager to establish volume, profit, and market share goals.
Support selling efforts of the sales team to meet sales and profit objectives.
Provide leadership and initiate all seed yield plot activities by identifying plot locations and oversight on plot follow-up.
Assist with Plot tours and field days coordinated with the Sales team and Regional Seed Manager.
Assist with yield book compilation by compiling results for the area.
Assist with Grower meetings as needed.
Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of proprietary products and services to support some customer complaints and work to resolve them.
Suggest improvements or alternative tactics to help achieve area goals.
