A Brief History

The O'Neill Senior Center was incorporated as a non-profit August 4, 1981.
The City of O'Neill provided a grant of $60,000 and a fundraising campaign matched the grant.
A grant was also obtained from the Peter Kiewit Foundation.

Funding

The meals served are minimally funded by the Older Americans Act.
The Northeast Nebraska Area on Aging dispensed the Title III funds as determined by formulas.

What the Center Offers

Hot, balanced, nutritious meals five days per week.
Provided Meals-on-Wheels meals five days per week.
Pool, cards, puzzles, computers, and social time and space.
Blood pressure and hearing testing.
Special holiday and birthday celebrations are observed.
Care Givers Support Group available sponsored by the center.

Who May Use the Facility

Anyone may enjoy the center and the meals for only $8.25 if under age 60 years.
Those over the age of 60 years will only pay a suggested contribution.
The facility is available to rent for events.

What the Center Needs

Increased community participation and financial support! With your support, the center can continue to provide fellowship, in house communal meals and Meals-on-Wheels.
