Holt County Economic Development is seeking a new Project Manager! We are looking for a technology savvy individual to join our team and assist with promoting HCED and Holt County businesses, lead the HomeTown Leadership Institute program, host the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, and other exciting duties. This position is full-time (32-40 hours per week) and offers a full benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, employer matching 403(b), and 10 paid holidays.

Position Purpose

Project Manager will be responsible for helping implement, execute, and evaluate a variety of projects to ensure consistency with Holt County Economic Development Fund’s (“Fund”) (an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation) strategy, commitments and goals. Projects include, but are not limited to, marketing and promotion, business retention and expansion, entrepreneurship, business and people attraction, leadership development, and youth engagement.

 

Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships and open communication with community entities, organizations and businesses.
  • Manage HCED’s online presence including updating the website, social media accounts, periodic digital newsletters, Monday Minute videos, and promoting the HCED office as needed.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating the HomeTown Leadership Institute program (Holt County’s leadership program).
  • Represent HCED at meetings and/or professional organizations related to community and economic development.
  • Provide assistance to new and existing businesses and residents.
  • Assist Executive Director in managing economic development programs and projects including county-wide business retention and expansion program, data collection, research and analysis, and assist in coordinating and implementing strategic planning initiatives for the Fund and communities served.

  • Strong listening skills and inclusiveness will be keys to success in this position.
  • Ability to interact professionally with others inside and outside the organization and articulate the mission of HCED.
  • Strong diplomacy and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and demonstrate a high level of service, responsiveness, and confidentiality.
  • Effective written, oral and presentation skills are a must for this position, as the Project Manager will regularly communicate with existing and prospective Holt County employers, Fund partners, as well as the public in general.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Ability to discuss sensitive business details and maintain confidentiality.

 

Other

  • This position is based in O’Neill and requires regular travel within Holt County.
  • Some night and weekend work required.
  • Excellent attendance and timeliness.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
