Job Title:        Holt County Economic Development Fund Project Manager

Reports To:    Holt County Economic Development Fund Director

Status:            Non-Exempt, Full-time

Position Summary

Project Manager will be responsible for helping implement, execute and evaluate a variety of projects to ensure consistency with Holt County Economic Development Fund’s (“Fund”) (an affiliated fund of the Nebraska Community Foundation) strategy, commitments and goals. Projects include, but are not limited to, business retention and expansion, entrepreneurship, business and people attraction, marketing, leadership development, and youth engagement.

Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships and open communication with community entities, organizations and businesses.
  • Assist with county-wide business retention and expansion program.
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing strategic planning initiatives for the Fund and communities served.
  • Oversee data collection, research and analysis.
  • Represent HCED at meetings and/or professional organizations related to community and economic development.
  • Manage economic development programs and projects.
  • Provide assistance to new and existing businesses and residents.
  • Fundraising.
  • Administer the HomeTown Leadership Institute program (Holt County’s leadership program).
  • Oversee and keep HCED’s online/social media/website presence updated.

Preferred Education, Skills and/or Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economic development, communications, marketing, public administration or other related field is preferred.
  • Applicant’s background and experience should enable them to gain immediate credibility with the business, political and community leadership.
  • Effective written, oral and presentation skills are a must for this position, as the Project Manager will regularly communicate with existing and prospective Holt County employers, Fund partners, as well as the public in general.
  • Strong listening skills and inclusiveness will be keys to success in this position.
  • Ability to interact with others inside and outside the organization, and must exercise participative management skills that support team efforts, quality processes, working well with a wide variety of personalities, and ability to establish and maintain a professional relationship with organization contacts and the general public.
  • Must have strong computer skills.

Other

  • This position is based in O’Neill and requires regular travel within Holt County.
  • Some night and weekend work required.
  • Excellent attendance and timeliness.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
