Peterson joins Holt County Economic Development as the Project Manager after 36 years in education. Mike recently retired from O’Neill Public Schools and is looking forward to this new chapter in his life.

Mike brings many years of experience in the field of digital and web design and media production and is excited to see how that experience will fit into this position at HCED.

Mike grew up in the panhandle of Nebraska graduating from Gering High School. Mike then graduated with honors from Western New Mexico University with a B.S. in Business Education and received his Master’s Degree from Doane University in Curriculum and Instruction.

Mike and his wife, Liz, have three children; Stefani who lives in O’Neill and works for O’Neill Public Schools, Jordan who is currently a traveling duel piano artist, and Connor who is the Vice President of First Bank and Trust in Minden.

“I am excited about this new chapter in my life! Holt County is my home now and I am eager to further the mission of Holt County Economic Development and the Nebraska Community Foundation.”
